PAWS of Coronado, a 501(c) (3) non-profit was founded twenty years ago with a mission to advocate for animal welfare and to find every animal in our care a safe and loving forever home. PAWS is a rescue/shelter hybrid that operates the animal shelter for the City of Coronado while maintaining rescue programs funded by the PAWS Foundation. PAWS animal population averages approximately 400 animals per year.

As we continue to build our organization in service of our mission, we are looking for a Senior Manager to oversee our shelter operations.

PAWS RVT
This position is responsible for providing medical care for domestic animals within the Coronado Animal Care Facility (CACF). This includes performing intake/wellness exams, administering veterinary medications and treatments, and providing general animal husbandry. Additionally, this position will coordinate the scheduling of appointments with external medical providers as well as support population management activities, including care pathway planning from a medical perspective.

Under the guidance of the Program Manager and Shelter Outreach team, this position will partner with and travel to under-resourced shelters throughout California to provide spay/neuter procedures for in-care animals and training on high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter for veterinary staff. Starting range is between $18.80 – $22.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.

We may have full-time and PRN opportunities available at all campuses: El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, San Diego. Starting range is between $24.29 – $27.33 per hour. RVTs at our Escondido and Oceanside campuses are paid a location premium for a minimum hourly rate of $26.71. The actual hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
